English driver racing in American NASCAR series

UK based motor racing driver, Simon Ward has announced that he will be racing in the prestigious NASCAR series in the USA.

Ward has landed a full season sponsorship deal with DSR Motorsports to race in the Pro Driver Development Series, in preparation for racing against the NASCAR stars in 2011.

“I am really excited to be the only Englishman racing in NASCAR!” said Simon. “It is a dream come true and I look forward to giving my UK fans a taste of racing in the USA.”

This success follows Ward’s recent test driving for Porsche in Utah in addition to him being offered a place to drive in the British Porsche Carrera Cup.

“I am still committed to racing in the UK,” continued Simon, “and I am confident that my success in NASCAR will help me secure the additional sponsorship I need to make that happen.

UK fans will be able to watch his NASCAR races (which start later this month) on Sky and keep updated via his website on www.simonwardracingdriver.co.uk.
